About the 'Weather' Links:

Two links are shown on the index page:
Present Weather, and Recent Weather.

PRESENT WEATHER

The airfield uses a Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station with Weather Display and Weather display Live software.
Using this page, you can get a Henstridge 'Actual' at any time, but this is a guide only, and must be supplemented by weather from approved sources for your flight planning.

The page shows you our weather Centre readings, and gives you wind speed, direction and maximum gusts.  All these readings are ten-minute averages updated every few seconds.  Pressures shown represent the QNH.  A cloud base is shown, also QNH.  The cloudbase shown is NOT an observation, but represents the height at which you can EXPECT cloud to form.

Disregard the monthly and annual rain figures.  They are silly & I am attempting to correct them.  The daily reading is accurate.

The positioning of the anemometer leaves a little to be desired but it will not be corrected until next year, when we move into our new clubhouse.  The main position error is that for southerly winds between 160 & 200 approx, the speed will  under read.  Add perhaps 5-8 kts for winds from this direction.

I hope to install a webcam in the not too distant future, to give you an indication of the visibility.

RECENT WEATHER

Weather station data are uploaded every five minutes to the Citizen Weather Observer Programme (CWOP), a private/public partnership which collects weather data from individuals and makes it available to weather services worldwide.

The recent weather page shows the data we have uploaded to this site over the past few days.
